There are a couple of *don't miss* shows coming up.  Tuesday April 20 (in
our regular time and place) we will have Conference Call, which is a great
quartet made up of world class improvisers.  It features Gebhard Ullmann
(Germany), Michael Jefrey Stevens (Memphis), and Joe Fonda and George

On Monday April 26 at the Big Top there will be a concert by Peter Brötzmann
and Hamid Drake.  This is a joint presentation by Anxious Sounds, Valid
Records, Open Ears Music, and Spyboy Productions.

Your presence at both of these shows is greatly appreciated.  It takes money
to bring in world class musicians from out of town (as well as world class
musicians from in town).  It takes guaranteed amounts of money.  If you
don't show up, someone from our local music community will end up covering
the guarantee from his/her/their own pocket.  This is just to let you know
that some members of our community believe so much in this music, that they
are willing to back it out of their own pockets.  Please come hear why.

The Open Ears Music Series consists of weekly concerts of interesting music,
often of the improvised variety. The performances are on Tuesdays, at The
Blue Nile Balcony Room, 532 Frenchmen St. NOLA All shows are scheduled to
start at 10 PM, and will likely be finished by midnight or shortly
thereafter, so don't be too late. There is no cover charge. We want everyone
that wants to listen to be able to. There is an encouraged donation.
Whatever you can contribute is appreciated. All money donated will go to the
